Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja Archives

No judge of the Supreme Court in recent years has commanded more respect as a "reformer" that His Lordship Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja. His reputation and legacy parallels that of this mentor, the celebrated Justice A. R. Cornelius.

The writings and speeches of A. R. Cornelius are not well-known amongst contemporary lawyers and judges in Pakistan. However, in the international academia, the speeches and letters of A. R. Cornelius, where were archived carefully by a number of admirers, have continued to inspire various insightful books and research articles. The three most prominent academics who have synthesised the life and thought of A. R. Cornelius are: Dr. Ralph Braibanti, Dr. S.M. Haider, both his contemporaries, and Dr. Clark Lombardi who still teaches at the University of Washington School of Law.

No less rich than the arhcives of A. R. Cornelius are the archives of Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, which run into hundereds of thousands of page.

Justice Khawaja has generously agreed to make available his papersto students of law and other researchers. We  have the privilege of facilitating His Lordship in curating and publishing (online) this treasure trove of contemporary jurisprudence.
